Cherie Nursalim: Building Economic Resilience in Bali

Published on July 25, 2025

In response to rapid social, economic, and environmental transformations, the Indonesian government launched the New Era Bali Kerthi Economic Roadmap—a national strategy to guide Bali’s transition into a resilient and future-ready economy. The roadmap prioritizes six key sectors: health and wellness, the knowledge and digital economy, green and blue industries, sustainable and blended finance, integrated infrastructure, and high-quality tourism. The initiative aims to preserve Bali’s cultural and natural heritage while advancing inclusive and sustainable development.

To explore how this roadmap can be effectively integrated into existing systems and investments, the Tri Hita Karana Forum and the G20 Bali Global Blended Finance Alliance co-hosted a high-level dialogue on 20 June 2025.

Titled “New Era Bali Kerthi Roadmap: Quantum AI, Innovation and Blended Finance for Better Business, Better World,” the event was held at the United In Diversity Indonesia Bali Campus in the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ), co-founded by GPC member Cherie Nursalim.

The gathering brought together over 180 participants, both in person and online, including policymakers, investors, business leaders, academics, philanthropists, and civil society representatives. Discussions were organized around four thematic priorities, each designed to surface innovative, actionable strategies to advance the Roadmap’s goals through collaboration across sectors.

The event marked an important step in catalyzing multi-stakeholder collaboration to support a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable future for Bali and Indonesia at large.
