Chavalit Frederick Tsao: Co-creating Ocean Stewardship

At the closing of the UN Ocean Conference 2025, reflections were shared by GPC member Chavalit Frederick Tsao, emphasizing that the ocean reveals the failures of land-based systems.
It was noted that conservation alone is insufficient—systemic, regenerative approaches are essential. Drawing on Tsao Pao Chee’s 120-year maritime legacy, a call was made for industry transformation and alignment of capital to restore ocean health.
He called for cross regional collaborations and activating every link in the money chain. "The tide is turning. Let’s rise to meet it, together", he says.
