Launch of the Belonging Forum - Samuel Centre for Social Connectedness
The Samuel Centre for Social Connectedness is launching a new initiative called the Belonging Forum, which is dedicated to evidence-based research and practical public solutions to combat isolation and foster belonging.
The Centre will soon announce the results of their first major effort: a landmark survey of 10,000 people on the state of belonging in the UK. This unique research explores how people experience belonging not only in terms of their connections to other people, but also their connections to place, power, and purpose.
In the months ahead, the Centre will work collaboratively to build on this research and produce a range of actionable public strategies and solutions to address the identified issues. Looking forward, the Belonging Forum aims to go beyond the UK, convening voices from Canada and other countries around the world.
Kim Samuel expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating: “I’m grateful to be part of a growing movement founded on a simple idea: That belonging is our birthright. Every person, by simple of virtue of being born, has the Right to Belong. This new initiative will skilfully apply data and strategy to accelerate momentum for our global work.”
More information about the Belonging Forum is available on their new website, Facebook page, and LinkedIn profile.
