Peter Brach: Helping Nonprofits in Crisis

Read below a message from GPC member, Peter Brach:

As we all know, nonprofits are experiencing the most serious funding crisis they have ever faced. I’m seeking funders to join me in a campaign that rarely fits typical giving priorities but could make an outsized difference for this sector right now. Giving Tuesday has an exemplary track record for mobilizing millions of givers around the globe to support nonprofits across all interest areas.

GivingTuesday projects that raising $300,000 for its 2025 media efforts will:

· Increase first-time awareness in the U.S. from 33% to 42–48%—reaching 30.6–51 million more people.

· Attract hundreds of millions of dollars in donations on GivingTuesday due to this increased awareness.

· Boost long-term giving as a meaningful share of first-time givers donate again in subsequent years.

· Build momentum toward GivingTuesday’s celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary in 2026 by increasing awareness now.

GT’s fundraising projections are based on research by its world-leading Giving Commons. This commons uses rigorous, multi-sourced data and media outreach analytics. While results may be lower than projected, there will likely be a significantly oversized impact that will greatly benefit the nonprofit sector. After reviewing the materials below, I hope you will find them as convincing as I have. You will find:
