Lina Kouatly: New GPC Member

Published on November 25, 2025

Lina Kouatly is a Syrian-Canadian Harvard alumna who started her career in Pharmaceuticals.

She was the General Manager of Novartis Consumer Health (Arabian Gulf, Near East & Iran) from 1996 and managed to grow Novartis business ten times in 6 years. She founded Lunatus early 2003 and drove it to be one of the top SME’s in the region.

Lunatus offers turn key representation to international health care companies ensuring successful introduction and double-digit growth in the GCC and ME region.

In this day and age where men are predominantly leading in the business world, it is very tough for a female CEO to get such positions let alone grow the business. The extraordinary thing about Dr. Lina is that not only is she one of the best CEOs out there, as evidenced by her fast-growing company, but she is a strong and determined person who has the temerity to break the mold and lead the company by focusing on the partners and eliminating the need for shareholders and hierarchy pyramids. This approach found Lunatus as both a strong and constant presence it the industry, and a major business leader in its community.

Lunatus, under Dr. Lina’s management, has been actively developing the healthcare and pharmaceutical market with her extensive knowledge and understanding of the local markets whilst offering the partners access to the regional network. She has managed to introduce and bring highly needed medications.

She has been interviewed by Milestone Magazine, featuring her in one of their editions regarding Women Empowerment and Leadership, and was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by 2018 Gulf Capital SME Awards.

Join us in giving Lina a warm welcome to the GPC!
