ShikshaLokam Hosts Roundtable on Movement Building for Education in London
On September 5 in London, the Shibulal Family’s initiative ShikshaLokam, together with Teach For All, convened a roundtable on how philanthropy can help build movements for education change.
The discussion explored how to move beyond program funding toward genuine systems change, with young people placed at the center. Themes included advancing child development and life skills, addressing the divide between access and quality, and strengthening leadership and ecosystems, with mothers highlighted as pivotal change agents in India.
Mr. Shibulal reflected on philanthropy’s role in building capacity, taking risks, and committing for the long term, noting that small, habitual “micro-improvements” can be just as transformative as large-scale interventions. At the heart of this vision is the growing Shikshagraha movement in India, mobilizing educators, NGOs, and government with the ambition of creating a One Billion Futures movement.
The Movement Continues: September 26 Roundtable in NYC
Synergos is partnering with ShikshaLokam hosting another roundtable this Friday, September 26, in New York. This time, the convening will focus on ways to address educational inequity in the global south.
